Selevia T

Career Pathways Navigator

My name is Selevia, and I am grateful to be a part of the Self Determined Futures team as a Career Navigator.

With over 10 years of experience in the social services field, I support individuals in achieving their personal, educational, and vocational goals. My career began as a caregiver for older adults and a job coach in a day program, where I discovered my passion for social services and developed a deep commitment to empowering individuals with disabilities to build independence and reach their full potential.

After earning my degree, I worked with children in school settings as a prevention specialist, and also served as an Employment Specialist in a mental health clinic, where I helped individuals identify career goals, develop job readiness skills, and secure meaningful employment. These experiences reinforced my dedication to person centered planning and the power of self determination.

Through an internship at the Regional Center and my work as a job coach, I became familiar with Regional Center services and how they support individuals with disabilities. Being part of Self Determined Futures allows me to contribute to an organization dedicated to empowering individuals to create their own paths, achieve their goals, and reach their full potential. I hold a Master’s degree in Counseling and Education and a Trauma Informed Care certification, and I approach my work with compassion, integrity, and a strong commitment to advocacy.

Fluent in four languages, I value cultural competence and strive to provide inclusive, accessible support to individuals and families from diverse backgrounds. My goal is to advocate for individuals with disabilities and stand beside them as they pursue their dreams, goals, and aspirations.
